Thoughtful exterior care
Moss removal with the roof’s condition in mind.
A build-up of moss and organic growth can change the appearance of a roof and leave debris in gutters. Before recommending cleaning, the tile type, surface finish and visible condition need to be considered. Not every roof is a suitable candidate, particularly where coverings are fragile or nearing the end of their service life.
Depending on the assessment, the proposed work may use controlled manual moss removal and a suitable treatment rather than abrasive blasting. High-pressure washing is not our default proposal for roofing. The material manufacturer’s guidance and the condition of the roof take priority over achieving a dramatic photograph.
Access is a key part of the quotation. The plan should take account of neighbouring property, conservatories, fragile surfaces, overhead services and the need for appropriate access equipment. Gutters and surrounding areas are checked for debris generated by the agreed cleaning work.
The colour change after a treatment may develop gradually. No roof clean can guarantee that moss will never return, and cleaning is not a substitute for repairing leaks or broken tiles. We discuss realistic expectations before work is authorised.

Your questions, answered
Do you pressure wash every roof?
No. A suitable roof method is selected after inspection. Manual removal or an appropriate treatment may be a better option, and some roofs should not be cleaned at all.
Will the moss come back?
Organic growth may return over time. Roof aspect, surrounding trees and weather all affect maintenance needs; permanent moss-free results cannot be promised.
Can you fix broken tiles?
Roof repairs are not included unless expressly quoted. Existing damage should be addressed by an appropriate roofing professional.
