Thoughtful exterior care
A considered clean from the kerb to your door.
Driveways collect traffic residue, organic growth and everyday dirt. Before quoting, the assessment checks the surface type, area, joints, drainage and any visible movement. A clean can improve appearance, but it is not a repair for subsidence, cracked concrete or loose paving.
Controlled surface cleaning may be suitable for sound block paving or concrete. Resin-bound finishes, tarmac and decorative coatings need separate consideration and should not be subjected to an unsuitable process. A trial area is useful where staining or surface sensitivity is uncertain.
Oil and rust can penetrate a surface. Treatment may reduce their visibility without removing them completely, so the likely outcome should be discussed rather than promised. The plan also needs to account for parked vehicles, road access and the management of run-off.
Some block-paved drives may need re-sanding after cleaning, once the surface and joints are suitably dry. Re-sanding, joint repairs, weed control and sealing should be itemised rather than assumed. Weather can affect the timing of those follow-on steps.
What your quote takes into account
- Surface and drainage assessment
- A stain-specific discussion
- Protection of adjoining areas
- An itemised plan for any follow-on work

Your questions, answered
Do you re-sand block paving?
Where appropriate, re-sanding can be quoted separately and scheduled when the paving is sufficiently dry.
Can you clean a resin driveway?
The finish and manufacturer’s care instructions must be checked first. A method suitable for concrete is not automatically suitable for resin.
Can I park on the drive afterwards?
The answer depends on the cleaning method and any follow-on treatment. You will need to follow the specific access advice for the work agreed.
